Arunachal Government Orders Reviews, Anti-Corruption Probe into Frontier Highway Project in East Kameng

Itanagar, Jan 6: The Arunachal Pradesh government has initiated a series of corrective measures to address issues surrounding the Frontier Highway project in East Kameng district, Chief Minister said on January 6, underscoring the administration’s resolve to ensure transparency and accountability in key infrastructure works.

Speaking to the media, the Chief Minister said a one-member committee had earlier been formed to examine concerns related to the project. The committee has since submitted its report, which is currently under detailed review by the state government to assess the findings and determine the next course of action.

Alongside this administrative scrutiny, the matter has also been referred to the Anti-Corruption Department, which has launched a separate investigation into alleged irregularities linked to the Frontier Highway project. The Chief Minister said the government is approaching the issue with seriousness and has adopted a multi-pronged strategy to establish accountability at all levels.

To further strengthen the review process, the state government has constituted four additional committees tasked with reassessing different aspects of the project, including its implementation and monitoring mechanisms. These committees will independently examine the situation and submit their recommendations to the government.

Reiterating the administration’s firm stance, the Chief Minister said strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty during the investigations. “Those responsible will not be spared,” he said, affirming the government’s commitment to clean governance and the proper execution of vital infrastructure projects across Arunachal Pradesh.
