Arunachal Leaders Honour Netaji on Parakram Diwas, Recall His Enduring Legacy of Courage and Sacrifice

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on January 23 paid rich tributes to Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary, remembering the freedom fighter as one of the most formidable architects of India’s independence whose ideals continue to guide the nation.

Observing Parakram Diwas, Chief Minister Khandu said the occasion symbolised valour, self-respect and sacrifice in India’s freedom struggle. In a message shared on social media, he recalled Bose as the founder of the Azad Hind Fauj and noted that Arunachal Pradesh stood united with the rest of the country in honouring the legendary leader. Emphasising Bose’s lasting influence, Khandu said his life and vision remained deeply embedded in India’s national consciousness.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein described Netaji as a timeless source of inspiration, calling him a towering embodiment of courage, patriotism and sacrifice. He said Bose’s fearless leadership and unwavering resolve continued to motivate generations to uphold the values of unity, dignity and self-reliance.

Mein added that Bose’s life served as a powerful reminder that nation-building requires discipline, determination and commitment to a higher purpose. Reflecting on the significance of Parakram Diwas, he urged citizens to draw strength from Bose’s ideals and work collectively towards building a stronger, more inclusive and prosperous India.

Parakram Diwas is observed annually on January 23 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose and to honour his unparalleled contribution to India’s freedom movement and national pride.
