Assam BJP Leaders Pay Tribute to Ajit Pawar After Fatal Plane Crash

Guwahati, Jan 28: Senior BJP leaders from Assam, including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Wednesday, January 28, mourned the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who was killed in a plane crash while travelling from Mumbai to Pune earlier in the day. The leaders conveyed their condolences through messages posted on social media platform X.

Chief Minister Sarma said he was deeply saddened by Pawar’s tragic passing, describing him as an experienced leader whose contributions to governance and public service had a lasting influence. He extended his prayers to Pawar’s family and expressed solidarity with the people of Maharashtra during the time of grief.

Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal termed Pawar’s death a significant loss for the nation, recalling him as a dynamic leader and capable administrator. Sonowal conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and to those who admired Pawar’s leadership.

Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika said the sudden demise was hard to believe and noted that Pawar would be remembered for his sincerity, compassion and unwavering dedication to public life.

Assam BJP MP Dilip Saikia also expressed shock over the incident, saying Pawar’s untimely death had left a void in public life. He offered his sympathies to Pawar’s family and supporters.

Condolences continued to pour in from political leaders across the country, reflecting widespread mourning over the loss of the Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister.
