Guwahati, Feb 23: The Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party will commence its ‘Jan Ashirwad Yatra’ from February 28 as part of a statewide outreach drive in the run-up to the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Announcing the programme at a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, February 22, Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia said the yatra is aimed at connecting directly with people across the state and presenting the party’s vision, achievements and roadmap for the future.
He stated that the first phase of the march will be held from February 28 to March 9, covering 34 Assembly constituencies. The campaign, he added, is designed to intensify grassroots engagement and consolidate public support ahead of the polls.
Saikia further indicated that details of subsequent phases of the yatra would be announced in due course as the party expands its outreach across Assam.
