GUWAHATI, June 4: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday announced the names of 12 Members of the Assam Legislative Assembly who would be sworn in as Cabinet Ministers on June 5.
The announcement was made through a post on X, confirming that the oath-taking ceremony would be held at 12:45 pm on Friday.
The MLAs named for induction included Ashwini Ray Sarkar, Ashok Singhal, Bimal Borah, Biswajit Daimary, Jayanta Mallabaruah, Kaushik Rai, Keshab Mahanta, Krishnendu Paul, Nilima Devi, Pijush Hazarika, Ranoj Pegu and Susanta Borgohain.
The new Council of Ministers was set to be formally constituted under the leadership of the Chief Minister, with senior officials, legislators and dignitaries expected to attend the ceremony. Portfolio allocations are expected to be announced after the swearing-in.
