Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister reacted strongly to the recent controversy in Baksa involving popular singer Zubeen Garg, criticizing those who have allegedly spread false information about the matter.
“Those people who have spread false stories have never truly liked Zubeen in their lives,” the CM said, addressing the situation. He added, “Now they are deleting old Facebook posts and suddenly acting like fans of Zubeen overnight.”

Referring to past incidents, the Chief Minister noted, “After the death of Rajib Sadia, Akhil Gogoi and his associates were the ones who criticized Zubeen the most.” He further commented on the prevailing social environment, saying, “They have assumed that this environment will never cool down unless it becomes like Nepal’s environment.”
The CM’s remarks come amid heated debates on social media, with many supporters and critics weighing in on the Baksa incident. His statements are seen as a strong defense of the singer, highlighting the political and social undercurrents surrounding the controversy.
