Assam Floods: Himanta Biswa Sarma Says Ministerial Team Monitoring Rescue Operations in Demow

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 20 said rescue operations were underway in flood-affected areas under the Bokota-Lakuwa Mandal of Demow constituency, with a government Ministerial Team monitoring relief efforts on the ground.

The Chief Minister shared a post by Assam Minister Susanta Borgohain, who said the administration was conducting rescue operations for residents affected by flooding in Lonporiya and nearby villages.

“Rescue efforts are underway on ground and being monitored by our Ministerial Team who have been entrusted to be on ground to ensure swift relief efforts,” Sarma stated.

Borgohain had earlier said the flood situation in Lonporiya and surrounding villages had created an urgent need for rescue measures. He added that operations would continue in other nearby flood-affected villages to assist residents in need.

The Assam Government has deployed its Ministerial Team to oversee rescue and relief operations in the affected areas, with the aim of ensuring timely assistance and support for families impacted by the ongoing floods.
