Guwahati, June 2: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on June 2 highlighted ongoing efforts in government schools across the state aimed at nurturing students’ talents beyond conventional classroom learning.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister said students in government schools are being encouraged to identify and develop their abilities across a range of disciplines. He noted with appreciation the activities being carried out at Amguri Primary School in Dhakuakhana, where children are engaging in music, art and yoga alongside their academic curriculum.
Sarma wrote that government schools across Assam are focusing on helping students discover their potential and develop confidence through a balanced approach to education. He expressed satisfaction at the progress made by students of the Dhakuakhana-based school and praised their involvement in creative and physical activities.
The Chief Minister also extended his best wishes to the students and teachers, acknowledging their role in promoting holistic education and personality development at the primary level.
The initiative reflects the state government’s broader emphasis on creating a well-rounded learning environment in government schools, with an increased focus on extracurricular engagement to enhance students’ creativity, confidence and life skills alongside academic achievement.
