Guwahati: The Assam Information Centre on Tuesday organised a Shradhanjali in memory of music icon Zubeen Garg, who was cremated earlier in the day at Kamarkuchi, Sonapur.
Deputy Director Sabir Nishat led the solemn tribute by offering flowers at the portrait of the legendary singer, joined by employees of the Centre. Media persons, along with officials and staff from the Tourist Information Centre and Assam Emporium, also gathered to pay their respects to the multifaceted personality whose music touched countless lives.

In a poignant moment that fulfilled one of Zubeen’s cherished wishes, everyone present joined their voices in unison to sing his iconic song “Mayabini”. The heartfelt rendition echoed through the Centre, symbolising the eternal bond between the late singer and his admirers.
The gathering reflected not only the grief of a state but also the enduring cultural legacy of an artist who transcended boundaries through his music.
