In a shocking incident, a man from Assam was found murdered in a dense forest near Dawki in Meghalaya, sending shockwaves through the region.
The victim has been identified as Tapan Dey, a resident of Basistha in Guwahati, who had reportedly travelled to Meghalaya last Saturday. According to initial reports, Dey’s vehicle was seized by a group of unidentified assailants, who later killed him and dumped his body in the forest area.
His body was discovered late last night, following which the Meghalaya Police launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those involved in the crime.
Authorities are currently probing the motive behind the murder, while the family members of the deceased are expected to receive the body later today for the last rites.
