Assam Agriculture and Irrigation Minister Pijush Hazarika on Sunday, July 19, inspected the Falangani Lift Irrigation Scheme at Kumtai to review its functioning and ensure effective irrigation support for farmers in the region.
During the visit, the minister assessed the operational status of the scheme and held discussions with Irrigation Department officials on its performance and maintenance.
Hazarika instructed officials to ensure the uninterrupted and efficient functioning of the irrigation facility so that farmers receive a reliable water supply, particularly during critical phases of the agricultural season.
He stressed that the proper maintenance and operation of irrigation infrastructure are vital for improving agricultural productivity and strengthening the livelihoods of farmers across the state.
