Assam Police arrested a suspected drug peddler and seized 7.94 grams of heroin during an operation by a CGPD team from Pan Bazar Police Station in Guwahati.
The accused, identified as Uday Das, a resident of Lankeswar, was apprehended with the suspected heroin concealed in a tobacco can. Police also recovered five empty vials during the operation.
Das was arrested following the recovery and legal action was initiated. Police were investigating the source of the heroin and whether the accused had links with a wider drug-peddling network.
The operation formed part of Assam Police’s ongoing crackdown on the illegal trade and circulation of narcotic substances across the state.
