Rupahihat Police carried out a large-scale operation against the alleged illegal beef trade in Assam’s Nagaon district, arresting two persons and seizing a substantial quantity of suspected illegal beef during coordinated raids across several locations.
The special drive was conducted in the areas of Rupahi, Saidaria, Chalachali, Tarabari, Singimari and Shalpara as part of an intensified enforcement campaign targeting alleged illegal activities in the region.
Police identified the two arrested individuals as Abul Sattar, a resident of Purba Shalpara, and Shamsed Ali from Tarabari. Both were taken into custody following the searches conducted during the operation.
According to the police, a large quantity of suspected illegal beef was recovered and seized during the raids. Officials stated that the operation forms part of the ongoing efforts to curb the alleged illegal beef trade in the district.
Investigators are continuing to probe the case to determine the extent of the suspected network and identify any other individuals who may be connected to the alleged illegal trade.
