Assam Police seized nearly 66,000 suspected Yaba tablets valued at around Rs 10 crore during an early-morning operation near the Sribhumi toll gate on Wednesday.
Acting on specific inputs, police intercepted a truck bearing registration number AS 01 VC 3157 and recovered the suspected narcotics from a concealed compartment in the vehicle.
Police arrested the truck driver, Suman Uddin, and co-driver Taj Uddin for their alleged involvement in transporting the consignment.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and an investigation is underway to determine the source and intended destination of the suspected drugs.
Police are also examining possible links to a wider drug trafficking network operating through the border region.
