Assam Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Kaushik Rai chaired the 14th Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Assam Urban Infrastructure Development & Finance Corporation Limited (AUIDFCL) on July 4, during which the progress of major urban infrastructure projects being implemented across the state was reviewed.
The meeting, held at Janata Bhawan, examined the status of ongoing AUIDFCL projects and discussed measures to improve urban infrastructure through better project execution, stronger financial management and enhanced institutional capacity.
During the deliberations, the Board underscored the importance of completing projects within stipulated timelines, ensuring efficient use of available resources and adopting innovative solutions to address the evolving infrastructure requirements of Assam’s urban areas.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Rai highlighted the need for close coordination among all stakeholders to speed up urban development while improving civic amenities and public services. He also stressed that transparency, accountability and efficiency must remain central to the implementation of infrastructure projects.
Reiterating the state government’s commitment to sustainable urban growth, Rai urged AUIDFCL and the concerned departments to continue working towards creating resilient, inclusive and future-ready urban infrastructure across Assam.
The meeting was attended by Commissioner and Secretary of the Housing and Urban Affairs Department Kavitha Padmanabhan, Finance Department Secretary Mauchumi Baruah, AUIDFCL Managing Director Hivare Nisarg Gautam, Director of Municipal Administration Tankeswar Das, Additional Managing Director of AUIDFCL Samprity Goswami, along with other senior officials.
