The Assam government will begin issuing appointment letters to successful candidates of the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination in early January, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on December 26. The move marks the final stage of one of the state’s largest recruitment exercises, bringing long-awaited relief to thousands of aspirants.
According to the announcement, candidates selected for Grade IV posts will receive their appointment letters on January 9, while Grade III appointees will be handed their documents on January 10. Both distribution programmes will be held at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati, starting at 10:00 am.
The Chief Minister shared the details through a post on social media platform X, urging all selected candidates to be present at the venue on their respective dates to collect their appointment letters in person.
The Assam Direct Recruitment Examination has been a flagship initiative of the state government, aimed at filling thousands of vacancies across multiple departments. The two-day, staggered distribution schedule reflects the scale of appointments being finalised through the process.
For candidates, the event will mark the culmination of a lengthy and highly competitive recruitment journey, in which lakhs of aspirants from across Assam vied for government jobs. The issuance of appointment letters is expected to formally usher successful candidates into public service, concluding a process closely watched across the state.
