Bajali Gets Its Own DTO Office, Boosting Administrative Convenience

Bajali: The newly established office of the District Transport Officer (DTO) of Bajali district was formally inaugurated on Sunday at Pathsala, marking an important milestone in strengthening the district’s administrative infrastructure. The inauguration ceremony, held at the DTO office premises, witnessed the presence of senior ministers, officials and local residents. The office was inaugurated by Charan Bodo, Minister of Transport, Government of Assam, who attended the programme as the Chief Guest. Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Cabinet Minister of Assam, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Charan Bodo expressed happiness over the establishment of a dedicated DTO office in Bajali, stating that it would greatly ease access to transport-related services for the people of the district. He said the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to improving transport infrastructure and ensuring efficient, citizen-friendly service delivery. Guest of Honour Ranjeet Kumar Dass noted that the new office would bring essential administrative services closer to the people, reducing the need for residents to travel to other districts for transport-related work. He also commended the Transport Department and district administration for their coordinated efforts in making the project a reality.

On the occasion, Guneswar Bezbarua was appointed as the first District Transport Officer of Bajali. It was also announced that vehicles registered in the district will carry the registration series AS-16, officially recognising Bajali as a separate transport district. Mridul Kumar Das, District Commissioner of Bajali, and Suman Chakraborty, Senior Superintendent of Police, along with other dignitaries, officials and members of the public, were present. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
