Nagaon: The fifth Bajrang Lal Nahata Memorial Sports Week of Nagaon Sports Association commenced at Nurul Amin Stadium yesterday. The sports week will feature nine events, including hockey, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, gymnastics, athletics, karam, and kabaddi. The football event, one of the 12 events, has already concluded, while the swimming event will not be held this year. The schedule for the events is as follows – badminton on March 21-22, kabaddi and karam on March 22-23, hockey on March 23-24, basketball and volleyball on March 23-25, athletics on March 25-26, and gymnastics on March 27-28.

In the inaugural table tennis competition, Trinayan Gosthi and Suryoday jointly won the title, while Nagaon Town Club secured second place and Amlan Gosthi took third place. The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including Dr Krishna Kumar Barooah, Vice President of Nagaon Sports Association, who lit the torch in memory of Bajrang Lal Nahata. Prem Nahata, son of Bajrang Lal Nahata, and officials of Nagaon Sports Association were also present.
