Nagaon: The Akan Chandra Mahanta and Alimuddin Memorial Invitational Prize Money Football Tournament, organized by Jajori Area Sports Association, concluded successfully at the association’s own playground at Dolonghat Bormanipur in Nagaon district today. Baligaon NMFC emerged as the champions, defeating Hojai’s Bardongki FC 2-1 in the final match.
In the final match, Baligaon NMFC’s Biban Laskar scored two goals in the 4th and 12th minutes, while Bardongki FC’s Raikam Bey managed to score a single goal in the 54th minute. The match was officiated by Referee Sahedur Rahman, assisted by Nazrul Islam, Digen Patar, and Manik Kakati.

The tournament was attended by several dignitaries, including MLA Ramakanta Dewri who inaugurated the final match. The winners were awarded trophies and prizes in the presence of Zakir Hussain, Commandant of 16th Assam police Battalion, Samir Hazarika, Joint Secretary of Assam Yoga Association, sports organiser Sofikul haque , Intaz ali, Mrinal mahanta, Almusuddin ahmed and other prominent sports personalities.
Baligaon NMFC’s Biban Laskar was declared the best player and top scorer, while Rahul Duwara was adjudged the best goalkeeper. The tournament was organized to promote sports and unity in the region, and it was a huge success with the participation of several teams from different parts of the state.
