Bangla Shrestha Samman 2025 award presented to Bijoy Biswas 

Nagaon: Aranya Bangla Foundation, Kolkata presented Bangla Shrestha Samman 2025 award to noted Assamese singer, music composer, and retired senior planning officer Bijoy Biswas recently at a function in Kolkata. 

      The award was presented to Bijoy Biswas at a prestigious function organised by the foundation at Urban View Banquet, Kolkata in West Bengal as a global harmony singer and music composer in the field of Indian music.

      Bijoy Biswas who is a strict follower of legendary musical maestro Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika and has been singing Dr Hazarika’s songs for over 48 years and dedicated two or more evergreen songs of ‘Sudhakantha’ at every cultural programme he participated. Bijoy Biswas is a regular invited singer in several Kolkata based television channels in Kolkata as well as Guwahati based television channels in Assam and also earned his popularity as a playback singer in several Assamese as well as Bangla TV serials.

     Earlier, Bijoy Biswas was facilitated with a dozen of awards in West Bengal and in his native state, Assam. He was awarded the lifetime achievement award in 2024 by Sur Nandan Bharati.

       It’s regretted to mention here that Bijoy Biswas who dedicated his life to follow Sudhakantha Dr Hazarika and resonated his highness for over a half century, have not invited to any event of the ongoing year long celebration of birth centenary of legendary bard till the time of filing this report.
