Barpeta Hosts First LAC-wise Mega Health Camp, Serves Over 3,200 Patients

Barpeta: The district of Barpeta today achieved a major milestone in healthcare outreach with the organisation of its first LAC-wise Mega Health Camp under Barpeta LAC. The event, held at Bhella Higher Secondary School, brought together specialist doctors from GMCH, FAAMCH, Barpeta, and the Office of the Joint Director of Health Services, along with support from the Assam Cancer Care Foundation, Social Welfare Department, Education Department, PHED, and ASACS.

The camp provided an array of essential health services, including laboratory tests, non-communicable disease screening, and general consultations. A total of 3,206 patients benefited, while 321 were referred to FAAMCH for follow-up treatment next month.

Special focus was given to children aged 0–18 years, with screening for fifty priority ailments. Mobilisation was carried out through SSA and the Social Welfare Department, ensuring participation from schools and Anganwadi Centres.

Four more LAC-wise Mega Health Camps are planned across Barpeta district in the coming month. The occasion was graced by senior officials from NHM Assam, the District Administration, and FAAMCH.
