Tinsukia: The Bengmora Matibor Borsenapati Memorial Invitational Prize Money Football Cup 2025 came to a successful close at the Natun Rongagara Playground under the supervision of the Tinsukia District Sports Association. The week-long tournament was organized by the Greater Natun Rongagara Regional Committee of the All Assam Matak Youth and Students’ Union (AAMYSU), with support from Oil India Limited, Duliajan.

Originally scheduled to conclude on September 21, the final match was postponed as a mark of respect following the untimely demise of Assam’s iconic singer Zubeen Garg on September 19. The rescheduled final was played smoothly on Friday amidst great enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

A total of eight leading football clubs from across Tinsukia district participated in the tournament. In a thrilling final encounter, Motapung FC clinched the title by defeating Barekuri FC 2–0. Dipu Kumar Baruah scored both goals for Motapung FC in the 29th and 33rd minutes. The match was officiated by Inut Chaurak as referee, assisted by Arup Chutia and Rocky Chaurak, while Jayanta Chaurak served as the fourth official.
Before the start of the game, players, officials, and spectators paid homage to Zubeen Garg by lighting lamps before his portrait, followed by a moving chorus performance by local schoolgirls. The final was inaugurated by Swarup Gohain, Central General Secretary of AAMYSU.
The champions, Motapung FC, received a trophy, medals, and ₹20,001 in cash, while the runners-up, Barekuri FC, were awarded a trophy, medals, and ₹15,001.

Individual awards were also presented to outstanding performers:
- Top Scorer: Gaurav Jyoti Chutia (Motapung FC)
- Best Goalkeeper: Ranjit Chutia (Barekuri FC)
- Best Player of the Final: Dipu Kumar Baruah (Motapung FC)
- Best Player of the Tournament: Ratul Moran (Motapung FC)
