Nazira: A portion of the boundary wall under construction at Bihubar High School in Nazira collapsed on Tuesday night, triggering strong reactions from residents and raising serious concerns about the quality of the work.
The wall, funded through allocations made by MLA Debabrata Saikia, reportedly gave way despite being under active construction. The project was being executed under the supervision of a committee constituted by the Nazira Development Block, with three assistant teachers — Pavitra Gogoi, Rajesh Gogoi, and Shyam Pan Tanti — entrusted with overseeing the work.
Local residents alleged that the collapse was the result of substandard construction practices and possible embezzlement of funds. According to them, the materials used were of poor quality, and proper monitoring was lacking throughout the process.
