Biswanath Chariali: The air-conditioned electric bus service to run between Biswanath Chariali and Tezpur under the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) was formally inaugurated by Pallabal Lochan Das, Chairman of ASTC today. The service was flagged off in the presence of dignitaries at a meeting held before the launch of the bus service. The bus service was launched by Transport Corporation Chairman Pallaba Lochan Das at a meeting held in the presence of dignitaries. The bus service will not only facilitate transportation but also play an important role in controlling environmental pollution, he said.

The event was moderated by Assam State Transport Corporation Managing Director Chinmay Prakash Phukan and explained the objectives of the event. The event was held at the Automatic Traffic Testing Center (ATS) premises in Biswanath Chariali. The programme was addressed by Amarjyoti Borthakur, chairman of Biswanath Town Committee, Pranabjyoti Lahkar, vice chairman of ASTC, Lakhinandan Sahariya, district commissioner, Biswanath. The inaugural session was attended by Chief Executive Officer, Biswanath Zila Parishad Liza Talukdar, social worker Asim Das along with other invited dignitaries.
