BJP Dismisses Rumours of Leadership Change in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, May 31: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Arunachal Pradesh has dismissed social media reports claiming that Chief Minister Pema Khandu has been asked by the party’s central leadership to step down and that Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein could replace him.

Addressing the media, Tezu MLA Mohesh Chai described the reports circulated by some Northeast-based media platforms and social media accounts as false and misleading.

He stated that there has been no directive from the BJP leadership regarding any change in the state’s leadership.

Chai further asserted that the BJP-led government in Arunachal Pradesh remains stable and continues to enjoy the support of party legislators as well as alliance partners.

He also said that the party’s central leadership had clarified that the reports were baseless.

Dismissing speculation over a leadership change, Chai added that there was no proposal to replace Khandu and that he would continue to lead the state government while overseeing ongoing development initiatives.
