‘Blood Boy of Assam’ Rahul Khan Emerges as Symbol of Humanitarian Service

Goalpara, June 16: Abu Eusub M. Shahiduz Zaman, popularly known as Rahul Khan and widely referred to as the “Blood Boy of Assam”, has earned recognition for his sustained contributions to healthcare, social welfare and environmental conservation.

Hailing from Goalpara district, Rahul Khan has donated blood 54 times over the years, helping save numerous lives across the state. Extending his commitment to humanitarian causes, he has also pledged to donate his eyes to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) after his death to benefit visually impaired individuals.

Apart from his personal contributions, Rahul has organised 25 blood donation camps to promote voluntary blood donation and raise awareness about the importance of maintaining an adequate and safe blood supply. He has also conducted 20 free medical camps aimed at providing healthcare services and spreading health awareness, particularly among people living in rural and underserved areas.

An advocate of environmental conservation, Rahul Khan has spearheaded 15 plantation drives and led initiatives that have resulted in the planting of more than 3,000 saplings at schools, colleges, hospitals, police stations and other public places. He has also taken responsibility for nurturing and maintaining the saplings to ensure their survival and long-term environmental benefits.

His efforts in social service, healthcare awareness and environmental protection have earned appreciation from various organisations and members of the public. Through his continued dedication to serving society, Rahul Khan has emerged as an inspiration to many young people and a notable example of community leadership.

Known as the “Blood Boy of Assam”, he continues to advocate compassion, volunteerism and social responsibility through his work.
