Nalbari, May 28: Brigadier NC Khuman, Group Commander of the Guwahati Group NCC, on Tuesday visited the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC)-34 being organised by 1 Assam Battalion NCC at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Nalbari.
The 10-day camp, which began on May 23, will continue till June 1 and has brought together more than 520 NCC cadets from schools and colleges across Kamrup Metro, Nalbari, Baksa, Barama and Rangia.
During the visit, the Group Commander was briefed by the Commanding Officer of 1 Assam Battalion NCC on the various training activities being conducted at the camp. Cadets are receiving training in drill, weapon handling, map reading, field craft, social service and community development as part of the programme.
Brigadier Khuman inspected different training areas, witnessed presentations by cadets and interacted with participants during the visit. Addressing the cadets, he highlighted the importance of the National Cadet Corps in developing discipline, leadership and character among young people.
“NCC is shaping Nation Builders. Use this camp to learn skills that will serve you and Bharat for life,” he told the cadets.
The Group Commander also reviewed the administrative and infrastructure arrangements at the camp and appreciated the efforts of the staff of 1 Assam Battalion NCC and Associate NCC Officers for conducting the training programme successfully.
