Cachar: The District Administration of Cachar on Saturday accorded a warm and dignified farewell to its outgoing District Commissioner, Mridul Yadav, IAS, following his transfer as District Commissioner of Sivasagar. The formal felicitation programme, held at the new Conference Hall of the District Commissioner’s Office, became an occasion of reflection and appreciation for his impactful tenure.
Mridul Yadav, who assumed charge as DC of Cachar on September 20, 2024, was widely acknowledged for his clear vision, people-centric governance and calm leadership. As a mark of respect, he was felicitated with a traditional uttoria and a memento symbolising Cachar’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
Addressing the gathering, Mridul Yadav described his tenure in Cachar as professionally enriching and personally fulfilling. He emphasised that effective administration rests on trust, teamwork and sensitivity to public concerns rather than procedures alone. He expressed gratitude to officers and staff across departments, stating that the achievements during his tenure were the outcome of collective effort and coordinated action.

He particularly acknowledged the support of co-district commissioners, circle-level officers and frontline staff, urging officials to remain ethical, empathetic and solution-oriented in public service. Encouraging young officers, he highlighted the importance of continuous learning and staying grounded in field realities.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner Rajib Roy, ACS, Co-District Commissioners Dhrubajyoti Pathak, ACS, and Roktim Baruah, ACS, along with senior officers and representatives of the District Administration Employees’ Association, shared their experiences, praising his disciplined, approachable and inclusive leadership. The programme concluded with officials wishing Mridul Yadav success in his new assignment at Sivasagar.
