Shillong, June 21: Candidates appearing for the NEET (UG) re-examination in Shillong on June 21 have been urged to leave for their examination centre well ahead of time in view of expected traffic restrictions in parts of Upper Shillong during a scheduled visit by a Union Minister.
The East Khasi Hills district administration stated that security arrangements linked to the VVIP movement are likely to result in regulated traffic on routes leading to Upper Shillong, which may cause temporary congestion and delays.
The advisory has been issued particularly for candidates assigned to PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, EAC Headquarters, Upper Shillong, as their examination venue. Authorities have asked students to plan their journey carefully and ensure that all necessary documents required for entry into the examination hall are carried with them.
Officials said that the traffic management measures are being implemented to meet security requirements while ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination. They added that all necessary arrangements are being made to minimise inconvenience and facilitate a hassle-free experience for candidates.
The district administration has also appealed to parents, guardians and the public to extend their cooperation during the examination period.
