CBI Arrests Latur Coaching Institute Founder in Connection With Alleged NEET-UG 2026 Paper Leak Case

National, May 18: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the founder of Renukai Chemistry Classes in Maharashtra’s Latur in connection with the alleged leak of the NEET-UG 2026 question paper, officials said on Monday.

The accused, identified as Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, was taken into custody after investigators reportedly recovered a copy of the alleged leaked medical entrance examination paper from his mobile phone during searches carried out on Sunday.

According to CBI officials, Motegaonkar is suspected of being part of an organised network allegedly involved in the leakage and circulation of the NEET-UG question paper.

Investigators have claimed that he, along with other accused individuals, obtained the question paper and answer key before the examination conducted on April 23, 2026.

The agency also alleged that the question paper was circulated among several individuals ahead of the examination.

Officials said the investigation into the matter is continuing, adding that additional searches and further arrests may take place as the probe moves forward.
