Udalguri–Sonitpur, May 18: A large-scale victory celebration was organised at Dhanshrighat in Orang on Monday to mark the electoral success of 47 No. Mazbat constituency MLA and Assam Cabinet Minister Charan Boro. The programme, organised by the election committee of the Mazbat Legislative Assembly constituency, witnessed a significant turnout, with nearly 20,000 people participating in the event.
The celebration commenced at around 11 am in the presence of senior leaders of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) and several invited dignitaries. Among those attending the event were BTC Deputy Chief Executive Member and MLA Rihon Daimary, Executive Member Fres Mohasary, Loumshrao Daimary, MCLA Shyam Chundi and Udalguri district BJP president Ajay Kumar Hazarika, along with other leaders.
Thousands of BPF leaders and party workers from different areas participated in the programme. Minister Charan Boro received a warm welcome from party supporters, social organisations and various institutions. Organisers stated that nearly 5,000 people took part directly in the felicitation ceremony held during the event.
The celebration also featured cultural performances, with more than a hundred cultural groups presenting traditional dance programmes. Invited artistes entertained the audience through musical performances, adding to the festive atmosphere. The programme was conducted by Udalguri District BPF General Secretary Phadoram Boro.
A community feast was organised as part of the celebration, drawing participation from thousands of attendees throughout the programme. The event was also attended by special guest Tseten Chombay Kee, MLA of Khallaktang Assembly Constituency in Arunachal Pradesh.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Charan Boro said priority would be given to strengthening the education and healthcare sectors in the constituency over the next five years.
