Churachandpur Deputy Commissioner Pulls Up NHIDCL Over Slow Progress on NH-102B Works

The Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, Dharun Kumar S, conducted an on-site review of infrastructure works along NH-102B and raised serious concern over the sluggish pace of construction in key stretches of the project. He was accompanied by Thangboi Gangte, ADC Mualnuam, during the inspection of NHIDCL-managed works on Saturday.

The review focused particularly on Packages 4A and 4B, covering the Songtal–Tuivai Bridge section, where the Deputy Commissioner expressed clear dissatisfaction with the overall progress. He noted that despite the advancing working season, physical achievements remained below expectations, prompting the need for urgent corrective action.

Following the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner directed NHIDCL officials to accelerate construction on a war-footing, highlighting the importance of utilising the state’s limited workable months. He stressed that the restricted construction window demanded optimal resource deployment and swift execution to avoid further delays.

He also instructed officials to intensify progress across other components of the highway project. Emphasis was placed on pushing forward works under Packages 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B, with a target of achieving maximum physical advancement during the current period. The directives aimed to ensure coordinated momentum across all segments of the highway network.

Later in the day, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a District Review Meeting at the Mualnuam Sub-Divisional Headquarters, where ADCs, District Level Officers and NHIDCL representatives presented updates on various schemes and developmental initiatives. The meeting underscored the need for greater inter-departmental coordination to strengthen project implementation and expedite progress across the district.
