CM Dr. Sarma Distributes Financial Aid to 4,768 Beneficiaries under CMAAA 2

Tamulpur: Himanta Biswa Sarma on February 16 ceremonially distributed financial assistance to 4,768 beneficiaries from Tamulpur, Baksa and Udalguri districts under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhiyan (CMAAA 2), reaffirming the government’s focus on youth empowerment and self-employment.

Under the scheme, a section of beneficiaries received financial support of ₹5 lakh each, while others were provided ₹2 lakh each, offering a significant boost to small businesses and start-up ventures across the region. The initiative aims to encourage entrepreneurship and help young people become self-reliant by turning their ideas into sustainable livelihoods.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said CMAAA 2 has been designed to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and ensure that financial constraints do not hinder the aspirations of Assam’s youth. He added that empowering young entrepreneurs is key to building a strong and resilient state economy.

On the same occasion, Sarma also inaugurated four RCC bridges constructed over the Matanga and Balti rivers under the Tamulpur Legislative Assembly Constituency. The newly built bridges are expected to greatly improve connectivity in the area and support faster socio-economic development. Officials said the infrastructure projects will ease transportation difficulties and improve access to markets, healthcare facilities and educational institutions, bringing long-term benefits to local residents and surrounding areas.
