CRPF Jawan from Assam’s Nagaon Martyred in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum IED Blast

Guwahati: Head Constable Mahendra Laskar, a brave soldier from Assam’s Nagaon district, specifically Kampur Kuri, made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He was part of the 60th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and tragically lost his life in an IED blast during an anti-Naxal operation in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district.

The incident occurred on Friday evening in the Saranda forest area under the Jaraikela police station. Laskar, along with two other personnel, Inspector K.K. Mishra and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramkrishna Gagarai, were injured in the blast. Despite receiving medical treatment at Apollo Hospital in Rourkela, Laskar succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.

The CRPF and local authorities have vowed to intensify anti-Naxal operations in the region. Laskar’s bravery and sacrifice will be remembered, and his contribution to the nation’s safety will not be forgotten.
