Entertainment, Dec 31: A cryptic date revealed through an exclusive gift package has sent the BTS fandom into a frenzy, fuelling speculation that the South Korean supergroup could be preparing its first full group release since 2022.
Elite Weverse Gold Membership holders received surprise packages containing polaroid photographs, signatures from members Jin and RM, and a card featuring three abstract crimson symbols above a single date: March 20, 2026. The date, which falls on a Friday and coincides with the spring equinox, has been widely interpreted by fans as a deliberate and symbolic hint.
The unexpected reveal has triggered intense discussion across social media, with theories ranging from a new album or single to a major comeback announcement or tour reveal. BTS are known for communicating with fans through subtle clues on their official platform, Weverse, rather than conventional promotional routes.
The packages also included personalised New Year messages from all seven members, many of which struck a tone of anticipation. RM wrote “BTS is coming,” while Jin, who completed his military service in June 2024, noted that he was “finally greeting you as a team”. Jimin wrote, “The year we meet has finally arrived,” and J-Hope hinted that long-held plans were now becoming reality.
All seven members—Jin, SUGA, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook—are expected to complete their mandatory military service by June 2025, clearing the way for full group activities. HYBE Corporation has previously confirmed that BTS would reconvene in 2025, though it has not commented on the significance of the March 2026 date.
Fans have also speculated on the meaning of the three crimson symbols, with many interpreting them as representing individuality, separation during enlistment, and reunion as a complete group.
BTS last released a group album, Proof, in June 2022, shortly before members began enlisting. Their absence has been keenly felt across the global music industry, with analysts predicting that their eventual return could have a major impact on touring and record sales worldwide.
For now, March 20, 2026, has become a focal point for ARMY worldwide, as fans await official confirmation of what could mark a major milestone in BTS’s career.
