Dainandin Barta Group Contributes to CM’s Relief Fund for Upper Assam Flood Victims

GUWAHATI, July 31: Dainandin Barta editor Sankar Gohain and The Assam Rising publisher Pallabi Gohain have contributed to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support flood-affected people in Upper Assam.

Handing over the contribution to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Gohain said the recent floods, particularly in three districts of Upper Assam, had severely disrupted the lives of many people. He said the donation was made on behalf of the Dainandin Barta Group as well as in his personal capacity as an effort to extend support during the humanitarian crisis.

Gohain also said the All Assam Journalists’ Welfare Trust was making efforts to stand by flood-affected journalists and would continue to do so. He expressed hope that assistance routed through the government would reach those in need and enable relief to reach the affected people.

He said serving people in times of crisis should remain a collective commitment and sought blessings to continue such humanitarian efforts in the future.
