Udalguri-Sonitpur, April 29: Danda Town Higher Secondary School in Rowta, Udalguri district, has once again delivered an exceptional performance in the Higher Secondary Examination 2026, securing a 100 per cent pass rate and reinforcing its reputation for consistent academic excellence.
According to results declared on April 28, a total of 152 students from Arts and Commerce streams were enrolled, with 141 appearing in the Arts stream. Among them, 116 students achieved First Division, while 25 secured Second Division. In the Commerce stream, all 11 candidates passed in First Division, maintaining a flawless record.
Switi Bhowmik emerged as the top scorer of the institution with 90.8 per cent, earning distinction and marking a notable improvement from her previous 76 per cent in the 2024 HSLC examination. Several other students also demonstrated significant progress, with Manashree Das scoring 86 per cent, up from 71 per cent in HSLC, while Chanowar Khatun secured 84 per cent compared to her earlier 59 per cent. Saraswati Das improved her performance to 82 per cent from 68 per cent in HSLC. Among the high achievers, Himanshu Deka scored 90.60 per cent with letter marks in all subjects, and Mahesh Chetry obtained 88 per cent with similar distinctions.
Ahead of the result declaration, the school organised an academic awareness programme attended by District Inspector of Schools, Udalguri, Bhaven Deori. He inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and interacted with students, parents and teachers, highlighting the importance of collective effort in achieving academic success. He attributed the institution’s performance to the coordinated dedication of teachers, students, school authorities and guardians.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Principal Laxmi Chedai, who expressed appreciation for the continued support of the teaching staff and students. The event also featured the Class XI admission ceremony, during which 196 new students were enrolled. The session was presided over by Harilal Sharma, President of the School Management Committee.
