DHAKUAKHANA, Sept 28: The first-ever Dhakuakhana Premier League (DPL) Season 1 will be held at Dhakuakhana Mini Stadium from October 1 to 4, with eight franchise teams set to compete in the four-day cricket tournament.
The player auction for the tournament was completed at the conference hall of the new Circuit House in Dhakuakhana. The auction began at around 9 am and concluded at 5 pm, with 229 players participating and eight franchises selecting players for their respective squads.
Dhakuakhana Co-District Commissioner Apurba Kumar Nath attended the auction and interacted with the organisers and participating teams for around half an hour.
According to the schedule, league-stage matches will be played on October 1, 2 and 3, followed by a day-night final and closing ceremony on October 4.
The organisers have appealed to sports enthusiasts to attend the matches and support the inaugural edition of the Dhakuakhana Premier League.
