Hojai: After years of waiting, Lanka residents finally got their wish. Assam Minister Piyush Hazarika inaugurated the Dhalpukhuri-Lanka railway level crossing flyover in a grand ceremony in Lanka within Hojai District. This is a big step forward for traffic in the district.

Addressing the public, Minister Hazarika praised Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s leadership for Assam’s steady growth. He highlighted people-friendly projects benefiting Hojai, like flood-proof embankment construction, Rabindranath Tagore University, modern roads, and industrial progress. The flyover will end long traffic jams in Lanka, making travel easier for business, education, and daily life.Kaziranga MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Hojai MLA Ramkrishna Ghosh, and Lumding MLA Shibu Mishra, Ex-MLA Shiladitya Dev among others also attended the ceremony. They all praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Minister for Assam’s all-round development.District Commissioner Bidyut Bikash Bhagwati said Lanka is a significant place in the Chief Minister’s welfare plans. He thanked the CM on behalf of the administration and residents. He expects the flyover to bring big gains for traders and the public.
