Dhekiajuli School Unveils 54 Wall Magazines in Three Years

Udalguri-Sonitpur, Sept 8: The PM SHRI Dhekiajuli Higher Secondary Girls’ School in Sonitpur district has unveiled 54 wall magazines over three consecutive years as part of an initiative to promote creativity and literary activities among students.

The school unveiled 16 wall magazines on Tuesday with the participation of teachers, students and members of the school community. Several distinguished personalities from Dhekiajuli unveiled the magazines.

The school had earlier unveiled 18 wall magazines on Teachers’ Day in 2024 and 19 on September 5, 2025, taking the total to 54 with Tuesday’s programme.

A handwritten magazine titled ‘Ankur’ was also unveiled by Prabhakar Barman, former president of the Dhekiajuli Branch of the Asam Sahitya Sabha.

Journalist and educationist Ramesh Chandra Bora inaugurated the programme by lighting a ceremonial lamp before the portrait of Dr Bhupen Hazarika and spoke about the legendary singer’s life and philosophy. Students also presented Bhupendra Sangeet.

The programme was conducted by school Headmaster Gautam Rajbanshi and presided over by School Management Committee president Narendra Nath Haloi.

The initiative was appreciated as an effort to encourage creativity, literary activities and active participation among students.
