Dhubri Police Destroy Drugs Worth Nearly ₹4 Crore in Gauripur Drive

Dhubri:  In a major step toward combating drug trafficking, Dhubri Police carried out a large-scale drug-burning operation at Alamganj in Gauripur, destroying seized narcotics worth approximately ₹3 crore 97 lakh. The contraband, collected from 72 registered cases under five police stations across the district, was disposed of in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.

The destroyed substances included 464.08 grams of heroin, 128.69 grams of brown sugar, 8.336 kilograms of ganja, 61,017 intoxicant tablets, and 3,028 bottles of cough syrup. Police officials stated that the disposal drive reflects the department’s continued efforts to curb the circulation of illegal drugs and send a strong message against narcotics-related activities in the region.
