Dhubri Police Reshuffled After Golakganj Incident

Dhubri: In the aftermath of the recent Golakganj incident, the Dhubri police administration has carried out a major reshuffle, transferring and reassigning several officers across the district. The move, initiated by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Leena Doley, is aimed at strengthening law and order and injecting fresh leadership into sensitive zones.

Among the key changes, Inspector Navajyoti Roy, who was previously the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bilasipara police station, has been appointed as the Circle Inspector (CI) of Golakganj with the additional responsibility of OC. His predecessor, Inspector Ratul Haloi, has been transferred to Bilasipara as the new OC.

Other notable postings include SI Jyoti Prasad Das, the former OC of Tamarhat, who will now serve as OC of Gauripur police station. In turn, SI Kapil Bora from Gauripur has been posted as OC of Tamarhat. SI Uttam Ray, earlier OC of Balajan police station, has been made In-Charge of Halakura police station.

Additionally, Debash Melsodha of Gauripur police station has been shifted to head the Balajan outpost, while SI Nayanmoni Patowary, who was In-Charge of Halakura outpost, has joined Golakganj police station as an Attached Officer.

Officials said the reshuffle was necessitated to restore public confidence and tighten the security apparatus in the wake of recent disturbances. The administration expects the changes to ensure better policing and effective handling of law-and-order situations in the district.
