Dibrugarh Gears Up for Chhath Puja

Dibrugarh: With just a day to go for Chhath Puja, the Maijan Chhath Puja Committee in Dibrugarh is giving final touches to preparations at the Maijan ghat, ensuring that all safety and cleanliness measures are in place for thousands of devotees expected to gather along the Brahmaputra River.

Workers have been busy cleaning the ghat, setting up barricades, installing lighting, and arranging safety infrastructure under the supervision of the committee and district authorities.

Chhath Puja, also known as Dala Chhath or Surya Shashti, is an ancient Hindu festival dedicated to the Sun God, during which devotees offer prayers and stand in the river to express gratitude and seek blessings for well-being and prosperity.
