Sharing the development on social media platform X, the Chief Minister praised the Sribhumi Police for intercepting the large consignment and preventing it from reaching the illegal market.
“₹10.8 crore is a heavy price to pay for crossing paths with Assam Police. Kudos to Sribhumi Police for intercepting a massive consignment during an overnight operation,” Sarma wrote.
He confirmed that one individual has been apprehended in connection with the seizure, while efforts are underway to trace and arrest other persons linked to the narcotics racket.
Officials said further investigation is in progress to identify the source of the consignment and dismantle the wider network involved in drug trafficking.
