DULIAJAN, Sept 9: The Department of Chemistry of Duliajan College organised a programme to mark the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies, bringing students and teachers together to discuss air quality, pollution and environmental responsibility.
Duliajan College principal Dr Lok Bikash Gogoi inaugurated the programme and highlighted the significance of the observance and the need for sustained efforts to protect the environment.
Dr Hemanta Das, head and associate professor of the Department of Sociology, spoke about human-induced pollution and climate change. He urged students to recognise the environmental impact of everyday choices and contribute to efforts to reduce pollution.
The significance and theme of the observance were discussed by Dr Dayananda Nath, head and associate professor of the Department of Commerce.
Fifth-semester student Sagarika Uraniya also spoke on the importance of clean air and greater public awareness of air pollution.
The programme concluded with remarks by Dr Kalyani Rajkumari, assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry, who highlighted the seriousness of air pollution and the role of young people in protecting the environment.
Fifth-semester student Bhaswat Gogoi anchored the programme.
