Tezpur: The eight-day Educo Cultural and Literary Festival for Children, organised by Educo School of Art and Music from November 16, concluded on Thursday with a Parents’ Conclave and the 110th edition of the popular storytelling-and-music series “Golpokotha” by writer Atanu Bhattacharyya and singer Mitali Dey. The festival featured diverse literary, musical and dance competitions for children.
At the conclave, Dr. Syamanta Das, psychiatrist and faculty member at Dhubri Medical College, delivered the keynote address on “Technology, Child Mental Health and Parental Awareness.” He highlighted the growing challenges children face in a technology-heavy environment and stressed informed parental engagement. Assistant Professor Ananya Banjyotsna of Tezpur University spoke on the need for music in students’ lives, while paediatrician Dr. Shyama Saikia and psychiatrist Dr. Aparajita Baruah discussed nutrition, mobile use and mental health. An interactive session allowed parents to clarify long-standing concerns.

“Golpokotha” attracted audiences from Tezpur and nearby regions. During the event, the children’s handwritten magazine “Henguliya” and the school’s first wall magazine “Pratyasha” were released.
The festival concluded with performances by winners of various competitions, followed by prize distribution. Founders Raktim Goswami and Lipika Goswami thanked participants and announced plans to expand the festival in 2026.
