Dhubri: Tension gripped the Parbatjhora constituency after miscreants set ablaze the BJP election office on Sunday night, triggering panic among party workers and supporters.
The office, located near Duli Gaon Bazar in No. 1 Parbatjhora constituency, had been inaugurated only recently as part of the party’s campaign for the BTC council elections. However, late last night, unidentified persons torched the premises, reducing it to ashes before locals could intervene.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the region, with BJP workers expressing fear and outrage over the growing atmosphere of hostility ahead of the polls. Party leaders have condemned the act, terming it a deliberate attempt to disrupt the democratic process.
Soon after the incident, the Parbatjhora Sub-Divisional Police Officer along with a team from Bogoribari Police Station rushed to the spot and began investigations. Security has been tightened in and around the constituency to prevent any further escalation of violence.

The police are yet to identify the culprits, but they suspect political rivalry may be behind the attack. Meanwhile, the incident has added to the already heated political climate, raising concerns about law and order during the ongoing elections.
