Bokakhat: A heartfelt Adyashraddha and remembrance ceremony took place in Bokakhat on Thursday, marking one month since the passing of Assam’s beloved musical icon, Zubeen Garg. The solemn event served as a poignant tribute to the singer’s lasting legacy and the void he left in the cultural landscape of the region.

The ceremony was held at the premises of the Bokakhat Industrial Training Centre (ITC), organized through the initiative of former MLA Jiten Gogoi in partnership with the Bokakhat Nirman Gut. The event drew a considerable and emotional gathering, reflecting the deep affection and respect the public continues to hold for the late artist. Attendees included members of Zubeen Garg’s family, notably his uncle Manoj Borthakur and Garima Saikia’s brother, alongside veteran actor Arun Hazarika and hundreds of devoted admirers.

The tribute was formalized with a gesture of profound reverence when senior cabinet minister Atul Bora lit a ceremonial lamp before the singer’s portrait.
