EVM malfunction disrupts polling at Raha booth for nearly three hours

Polling was disrupted for nearly three hours at Gerjaipam Adarsha ME School in Assam’s Raha constituency on Tuesday after an Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) malfunctioned at polling station No. 94.

The machine remained non-functional despite election officials replacing two EVMs, leaving voters waiting at the centre to cast their ballots.

Officials continued efforts to restore the voting process, while polling remained delayed at the station. Voters were awaiting the resumption of voting as measures were being taken to resolve the technical problem.

Election authorities are expected to take further steps to address the malfunction and ensure that eligible voters can exercise their franchise.
