Margherita: A family in the Alubari area of Margherita in Assam has been living in fear for the past several days following repeated harassment by unidentified miscreants who allegedly target their home every night. According to reports, the family of Mohammad Misbah Uddin Ahmed has endured 11 consecutive nights of disturbances, leaving them unable to sleep and deeply distressed. The miscreants reportedly bang on doors and windows, create loud noises and even damage wooden window frames in what the family describes as a deliberate attempt to terrorise them.
Family members said the incidents occur late at night and appear to be coordinated, causing severe psychological stress and insecurity. Despite the presence of the local village defence force and increased night patrols in the area, the unidentified individuals continue their activities without being apprehended. The victims have lodged complaints with Margherita Police, but the perpetrators have so far managed to evade detection. Residents said the miscreants strangely avoid touching any external property or belongings and instead focus only on attempts to intimidate the family and break into the house.
